How to be a Skadden Fellow: Straight Facts from Skadden Fellowship Director Susan Plum and UVA Skadden Fellows
Founding director of the Skadden Foundation, Susan Butler Plum, will provide critical insights on how to apply and be selected for the Skadden Fellowship, likely the nation's most prestigious public service fellowship. Skadden Fellows will discuss their own paths toward the fellowship and the work they've done as fellows. Those who are considering applying for this fellowship should attend. Lunch will be provided. The District's First: Karl Racine ‘89
Karl A. Racine became the District of Columbia's first elected attorney general in January 2015 after decades of service in public and private practice. Racine will discuss his path into public office as a first-generation Haitian immigrant whose legal career spans work as a public defender and White House attorney to managing partner of a large D.C. firm. He will also address his service as the first elected attorney general for the District and his vision for the office. Lunch will be provided with an RSVP through Symplicity by Feb. 17.
